Dervish's Song

Lulu Abramian

As he tilled the land, song was burning his lips
O, my beloved, you have sent me to this land
You provided for and protected, all things alive
Trusted me with your wisdom and all senses five
Senses to savor, fruits of labor, as well as land
Through work on the land, I shall not demand
Will not attach, will not compare will not be bound
O, my beloved, my problems will not be declared
I shall tell the problems, I am from mighty God
Dissipate, expand my mind, eyes and my ears
Let me bury my shadow, dim the lust in my eyes
O, my beloved, tilling the soil is my work
Willingly I live my life, I have no chores
I offer this to life, as long as my light shines
With my heart open, grace will come to light
