The Poison of Putin
Jamie Erfurdt
The truth is buried like victims under rubble. Decomposing bodies covered in dirt.
Executions ~ deliberate trouble, mass graves
of civilians next to a church. Charnal ground
corpses in Bucha, face down, shattered, in debris. Cemeteries created right where victims fell.
Smoky scorched earth, new blitzkrieg explodes
the sky. Displaced children, killed, hurt.
The city of Mariupol wiped off the face of the earth. Rockets fired, bunker busting and free fall bombs. Architecture flattened by Russian armory ~
destroyed Mariupol’s place of refuge,
steel plant sanctuary, fell to machine gun shell.
One death at a time, the utter devastation so huge! One man dies with stab wounds in a stairwell.
One mangled mass still attached to her bicycle.
Death can come at anytime from this gruesome carnage.
Evoking terror, and worldwide public outrage.
“We want justice for this horrendous crime!” Democracy and Freedom’s cost soars higher!
“When will it be enough?” the grief stricken chime. “Take stance against the evil Russian Liar!” Nothing seems to gratify his insatiable quest for territory
and power. The more he has, the more it takes to satisfy
him, He never feels fulfilled in the cesspool
that is a despot’s shell. How did this perverse tyranny build? Cruel fuel for the pit of his empty hell.
Truth is buried under rubble and bullshit.
Limbs crushed Ukrainian brothers,
slaughtered soldiers, everyday citizens,
tender babes, their tragic mothers.
Long to be home, their own land’s denizens
Like a school bully the bad boy comports.
The Russian Liar, with bludgeoning bloodletting
has now seized Azov Sea and Black Sea Ports. Poisoned his opponent Navalny!
Refuses to say the name Navalny!
Put him in the Pokrov Penal colony!
Later, they put him in solitary confinement!
Then P. stole the election for selfish gain.
What a disgrace, threw toxins in his face.
Now attempts to annihilate Ukraine.
Man and land, troops continue to deface.
Evil reign seems like another third Reich.
Navalny almost died of poisoning; then in jail,
on a hunger strike. Wants to wage war on certain corrupt men.Stands up to sickening barbarity.
Has said,“I will end war and corruption.” Protests
toxic masculinity, the evil mission of former KGB.
Explosive, cruel, Russian soldiers tramp.
Want to be home, their own land’s denizens. Kalashnikov bullets kill at kid’s camp.
Propaganda pollutes his citizens. Premeditated,
but Kremlin denies it. While stunned and scared children are forced to watch, the army rapes, shoots men in the eyes. What torture, a monster pummels Mom’s crotch. A penis is used as a savage missile
on an eleven year old boy, lost his ability to speak. Couldn’t defend himself, no dismissal. He was
brutally raped by a Russian creep. They punish
those who have done nothing wrong. So vile,
this massacre of the innocents.
Some think this carnage makes a man strong
How can this assault not make us incensed?
The war, this poem ~ don’t know how long they’ll go on.
Pray that violence will be silenced.
