Down Uneven Steps
Monique Crisafi
Down
uneven
steps
shallow
and
Irregular
The salty air
meets me
halfway
The horizon
distant
silent
and
secular
I open my journal
dismay
The seaweed
an unconventional
bouquet
Strewn across
the warm
fine
sand
My appreciation
not easy
to convey
As I know
the dreary
it will
disband
uneven
steps
shallow
and
Irregular
The salty air
meets me
halfway
The horizon
distant
silent
and
secular
I open my journal
dismay
The seaweed
an unconventional
bouquet
Strewn across
the warm
fine
sand
My appreciation
not easy
to convey
As I know
the dreary
it will
disband
